Most of us usually need a little something to help us think of others and I thought this sounded like tons of fun. I'm so thankful for all of you other women who have such great ideas. You're wonderful.

Thanks A Bunch!!

So I'm not usually one for posting about how great and wonderful I think my husband and kids are, but today I just have to make an exception. They all deserve the biggest thanks ever.

Thanks Steve for taking such good care of me while I've been sick this week.

Thanks Steve for loving me despite me not wearing makeup or doing my hair for a whole week.

Thanks Steve for coming home at lunch today just to make sure I was doing better.

Thanks Steve for mopping the floor and cleaning the bathroom so that I'm not stressed just in case I go into labor.

Thanks Steve for helping me clean up the boys' throw up time after time.

Thanks Steve for worrying about meals.

Thanks Steve for sleeping with the window open last night while there was snow falling just so that I could sleep better.

Thanks Steve for trying to do everything you could to make me feel better.

And thanks to my wonderful boys for getting me kleenexes, drinks, cough drops, pillows, and whatever else I asked for. I have been so well taken care of this week.

More Than A Travelogue

This blog post comes from a number of directions. My mom made the comment to me that it's nice when people post more than just a travelogue of their day or week. I agree, a little depth to a blog is not a bad thing as long as it's sincere. Then Kristy had a brilliant "Sunday Post" with a great poem about the Savior. I think it's a good idea for us to share more than just what keeps us busy.

Last week in Young Women's, Sister Young brought a great plaque with a quote about following Christ. When I was preparing my visiting teaching message for this week I was reminded of the quote. I couldn't remember it exactly and my visiting teaching ladies wanted a copy of it. So tonight I looked it up and here is the real thing.

I think it is a great quote to be reminded of every day. How much would our daily actions change if we implemented this quote into our everyday lives? I want to get it in vinyl for my wall.

The visiting teaching message in general really stuck a cord with me this month. Sister Beck had such a great list of things we should be working on. They pretty much encompass all of my New Years Resolutions. I mentioned that I wanted to print them up and hang them next to my "to do list" so that they might gradually work their way higher in my priorities. Then my wonderful VT partner, Jennifer, stopped me at church and gave me a beautiful photo finish printout of Sister Becks quote. So here it is along with a link if you want to print it yourself.

A Plea For Help. . .

Many of you know that I don't love to discuss what we're naming our baby. I think there should be some sort of surprise left, but I'm at a complete loss with this one. We have about a month left and no decision on a name. Please send me your ideas. To give you a sense of what we like let me share our ideas.

Thus Far In 2009 . . .

Well it's officially taken me 11 days to get my 2009 blog started. This week has seemed pretty eventful. Last Sunday was Parker's 3rd birthday. He was so excited to be the man of the hour. We had a little party for him that evening with family. He got spoiled again. Him AND Bronsen have both enjoyed his new birthday toys. Parker wanted a motorcycle cake. Since Steve and I were giving him a motorcycle helmet for his birthday we decided to make the whole party about motorcycles. I thought a track would be a lot easier to make than a motorcycle. My cake making skills are not quite up with Paul's or Steve's mom's. But I thought it turned out okay.

Parker shares a birthday with my Grandpa Johnson. That's where he gets his middle name from. We couldn't seem to get a picture of them together, but I still snapped one of Grandpa.

The rest of this week has been filled with my "nesting". I agree with Kristin that the majority of nesting doesn't happen in the days prior to delivery, but in the month or so before. So this week we moved the boys into the play room down stairs, cleaned carpets, loads of laundry, and spent the weekend shopping.

We decided to go to Grand Junction (CO) to buy a few things for the baby, toy organizers for the boys room, and exchange the scope on Steve's Christmas gun. Come Friday I was ready for the weekend, so I talked Steve into leaving after work. We had a good time at Pizza Hut and swimming in the motel pool. It was probably a good thing we didn't try to do a day trip because we still didn't make it back until fairly late last night. Or course we would have been a little earlier had someone not missed the creasant junction exit off of I-70.

All in all it was a great and eventful week followed by a very wordy and long blog. Sorry.
